Happy Spring! The 2023 Festival was wonderful! We look forward to gathering with you again this November.

2024 PRELIMINARY LINEUP ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Moab Folk Festival team is working hard to confirm performers for our 2024 lineup and will have new additions to announce soon. For now, we are excited to welcome The Travelin’ McCourys, Nick Shoulders, Jake Blount and Handmade Moments.

We are so excited to have The Travelin’ McCourys close out the Festival on Sunday! The McCoury brothers- Ronnie (mandolin) and Rob (banjo) - were born into the bluegrass tradition. With fiddler Jason Carter, bassist Alan Bartram, and Cody Kilby on guitar, they take what they had in their DNA, what traditions they’ve learned, and push the music forward. The Travelin’ McCourys have an eclectic repertoire, inventive style, stellar musicianship, and, of course, plenty of burnin’ grass.

We think you’ll love Nick Shoulders' gritty form of music! It is a heady balance of his ethereal croon and a masterful whistle crafted from a lifetime chasing lizards through the Ozark hills. Nick Shoulders is a living link to the roots of country music with a penchant for the absurd. His dazzling musicianship and punk defiance are tied together by a voice seemingly out of place in this century, yet ever ready to speak up about its problems.

Jake Blount is an award-winning, virtuosic, multi-instrumentalist and scholar.  He is a skilled performer of spirituals, blues, and string band repertoire with a bottomless, scholarly knowledge of American musical history. Blount has charted an unprecedented, Afrofuturist course on his pilgrimage through sound archives and song collections.

Handmade Moments’ Anna Moss and Joel Ludford’s endearing, intoxicating personalities guide us through diverse musical flavors of American music. They serve up ornate instrumentation and simple yet sophisticated song craft. Their live show offers a memorable mix of intoxicating vocals, bass clarinet, saxophone, sousaphone, guitar, upright bass, percussion and tag team beatboxing.
